Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded 110 years ago on January 13, 1913, by 22 young women studying at Howard University. They sought to create an organization rooted in sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. Since its founding, Delta Sigma Theta has become one of the preeminent service-based sororities, with more than 350,000 initiated women and over 1,000 chapters located worldwide.
The Fayette County (GA) Alumnae Chapter was chartered on April 27, 2024. The chapter’s objective is to empower and impact Fayette County with public service initiatives through the Sorority's Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
